Studying abroad
Funding programmes for study visits abroad
Dealing with different societies and cultural ways of life is a central aspect of studying sociology. A study year or semester abroad gives you the opportunity to get to know a foreign culture, broaden your sociological horizon and gain important new experiences. In our globalised world, studying abroad is also an advantage for future career opportunities.
The University of Graz offers its students a wide range of opportunities to study abroad - take advantage of them!

Recognition of academic achievements
In general, all coursework completed at other universities in Austria and abroad can be recognised as long as it is compatible with the courses in the sociology curriculum of the University of Graz.
It is not important whether the course titles alone match. The course content and the number of ECTS credits completed are more important for credit transfer.
You can find the relevant information here Nostrification.
For credit transfer within the Master's programme it is recommended to study section 2 (paragraph 4) of the curriculum carefully.
