Peer teaching

Talented and dedicated students from higher semesters have been supporting teachers of the department for several years. Peer teachers lead work groups and pass on central aspects of sociological thinking to new students. Furthermore, students are prepared for the final examination in an interactive way by receiving help from their fellow students of the masters programme in the work groups. The concept of peer teaching is committed to a strategy of empowerment: the selected students of the masters programme are teachers and learners at the same time. In a separate class, they reflect on their teaching experiences under the direction of experienced staff of the department and they are supported by the work groups if there are any problems. Peer teaching is crucial part of youth promotion on an academic level.
